Daily update is the term for an updated version of a news report or other piece of information published once per day. The phrase is also used to refer to a software program that automatically restarts each day to keep up with the latest updates and patches.
If your Action provides valuable content that the user wants to receive on a regular basis, it can be beneficial for them to subscribe to daily updates. When a user does, they receive a notification on their Assistant device at the time of the scheduled update each day. This is in addition to the standard notifications that are delivered when they invoke an intent and interact with your Action. You should offer a subscription to daily updates only after you’ve given your user a chance to understand the value of your Action. Prompting them to register for daily updates mid-conversation or as a suggestion chip can make users feel overwhelmed and can cause them to abandon the Action.
To configure daily updates for your Action, go to the Develop page in the Actions console. Click Intents in the left menu and select Add new intent to create a subscription flow that enables users to choose a time window for when they want to be reminded of your Action each day.
